Two-seater sofa designed by Georges Van Rijk for Beaufort in the 1960s, crafted in solid wenge wood. Known for its natural durability and resistance, wenge was typically reserved for high-end furniture, giving this piece both strength and visual depth.
The sofa retains its original cushions, newly reupholstered in chocolate-colored cotton fabric, providing a fresh and comfortable seating surface while respecting the original design. It features two removable armrests upholstered in black leather. These armrests are designed to be both functional and comfortable, allowing space to rest a glass or an open book, or simply to provide additional support.
The structure is solid and well balanced, offering a high level of comfort combined with a clear modernist aesthetic. Beaufort was regarded as one of the higher-quality furniture manufacturers in Belgium during this period, known for refined production and thoughtful design.
